My Favorite Vegan Restaurants In Abu Dhabi, UAE
Are you vegan in the UAE and don't know where to go to try the best food? Look no further! I've compiled a list of some of my favorite vegan restaurants in Abu Dhabi for you to try.
Why I Love This Restaurant: West African and Caribbean food that has vegan options!? I'm in there like swimwear! This family business of wanderlusts is focused on bringing Sierra Leonean, Trinidadian and Jamaican inspired-cuisine and culture to the Nation’s capital. Their main effort is to serve delicious food that brings people together in celebration and leaves them invigorated! West to West has a variety of vegan options that always leave me satisfied, coming back for more.
Must-Try Dishes: West to West serves a variety of mouthwatering flavorful vegan dishes from Awojoh Binch from Sierra Leone to the Trinidadian street food "Doubles." Awojoh Binch consists of black-eyed beans soaked for an hour, boiled and then cooked with onions, herbs with a touch of bonnet pepper for spice, best served with fried plantain and West to West Salad. Another more popular vegan dish only sold on weekends or by special request is a Trinidadian dish known as “doubles.” Doubles are a common street food “sandwich” made of two flatbreads known as bara, filled with a curried chickpea filling or channa, as it is known in Trinidad and India.
Location: West to West Kitchen is located on Electra Street behind ADCB headquarters and offers both dine-in and delivery options.
Why I Love This Restaurant: I first discovered Wild & The Moon from Instagram. I was immediately drawn to their aesthetically pleasing interior decor. Wild & The Moon is decorated lushly with gorgeous greenery that screams come in and release all your burdens while you eat plant-based food. Wild & The Moon prides itself on being a lifestyle movement created by a tribe of food lovers, chefs, nutritionists, and naturopaths. Offering wild, local, gluten-free, ethically sourced, seasonal, and plant-based ingredients, the food, and cold-pressed juices are 100% organic, pure, fresh, and unpasteurized, leaving their nutritive power intact.
Must-Try Dishes: With the focus solely on plant-based food, Wild & The Moon has a huge variety of dishes for the vegan foodie. The Pad Thai Noodles is a personal favorite that I guarantee you will immediately fall in love with. A delectable combination of rice noodles, cabbage, carrots, red capsicum, cucumber, coriander, spring onion, garlic, ginger, tamari, peanuts, and toasted sesame oil that will cause a plant-based explosion in your mouth.
Location: Abu Dhabi Cultural Center
Why I Love This Restaurant: I stumbled on this heavenly restaurant while I was on a staycation in Dubai. I wasn't satisfied with my hotel’s vegan options and decided to order out. Best decision ever!!! If I could eat Blooms every day I would! It's the cauliflower buffalo wing salad for me! The ideal combination of textures you never knew you needed. I would describe this dish as the "perfect marriage," the battered fried cauliflower, and pico de gallo salsa make love on a bed of crunchy lettuce with sliced avocado, topped with tahini sauce. "Chef Kiss," I fell in love at first taste!
Must-Try Dish: The cauliflower buffalo chicken salad! They also have a make your own salad option where you can make the perfect salad for your taste buds and vegan needs.
Location: They operate out of Shakesphere and Co’s kitchen for delivery or pick up options only.
Why I Love This Restaurant: Wheatfields is home to vegan foods that are nutritious, delicious, health-conscious, and budget-friendly. A gourmet grocer but also a café, Wheatfields offers options for every meal including french toast or pancakes for breakfast and pizza, calzone, and mac and cheese for lunch or dinner. The wide variety of cheap vegan food is what keeps me coming back. The best part about this café for me is you can shop at the grocery store while waiting for your delectable food!
Must Try Dish: The Buffalo Cauliflower wings are DA BOMB DOT COM! Paired with their vegan house ranch, you won't believe you’re eating just battered cauliflower. I also highly recommend trying their breakfast menu. They have a vegan burrito and breakfast plate that is to die for.
